Cloves are truly one of the most unique spices out there, and they’re definitely some of the most unique-tasting ones that we stock. Cloves bring a fantastic aroma to any dish, and they are, for many people, the smell of the holidays. They have such a rich, sweet, and succulent aroma that they’re hard not to love, and we’re sure that you’ll like our cloves just as much as we do.
We love to use cloves throughout all of the recipes that we cook at home because it’s just so versatile. The unmatched aromatic power that it has can be seen in any number of dishes, from fancy and elegant pasta dishes to roasted pork studded with tiny, delicious spices. The versatility of this spice is somewhat unmatched, at least as far as we know, making it a must-have for your pantry or kitchen shelves.
We love to use cloves in a great number of things, but there’s one foodstuff that they’re, perhaps, most famous for: they’re often used as part of mulled wine - a classic Christmas dish that’s enjoyed the world over whenever the evenings get chilly and people start gathering to celebrate the festive season. If you’re unaware, mulled wine is an alcoholic drink that is prepared by adding herbs and spices to red wine, and allowing it to steep for a while. It is typically served hot, and cloves are one of the dominant flavors in the drink.
Our cloves are best kept in an air-tight container that’s out of the sun and in a cool spot. As they’re dried, our cloves are particularly susceptible to wet conditions, even just a steamy environment. Therefore, it’s wise to keep them in an airtight jar and store them in a cool, dark place.
